How are perfume scents crafted, and what do notes mean? This infographic poster aims to provide a beginner with all they need to know to get started on understanding and choosing their signature perfume.
I arranged the information in a circular manner to encompass the perfume bottle and enable overlapping of categories for certain notes, which helps the viewer identify trends among the notes.
I used gradients with different methods of visualisation to represent stages of a process as well as increasing time, concentrations and levels of a certain property.
The top and base note icons were derived from the top and bottom sections of a three layer pyramid, while the heart note icon uses a heart shape instead on the middle section of the pyramid to provide greater differentiation with the other icons.
